In 1839, just as Charles Dickens published ‘Oliver Twist’, Thomas John Smith and his elder brother Joseph formed the T. J. &. J. Smith partnership, trading from premises in the City of London.

In the next 150 years a worldwide reputation was established for manufacturing leather bound books and leather goods of the highest quality. Then in 1950, the most important feature of the product was linked with the name of the family and Leathersmith of London was born.

Today the Leathersmith of London ‘Azure’ range includes elegant pocket and desk diaries and a comprehensive collection of address and social books, all featuring the distinctive blue paper and beautifully bound in the traditional Rutland grained leather.
